Dr. John P. Scafidi
has been practicing physical therapy for nearly 10 years. John is extremely
passionate about helping all of his patients where they can enjoy more
active and productive lifestyles. This will help them to function pain-free;
recovering as much of their abilities as possible after an injury, illness,
or other chronic condition. He couldn't imagine a more personally
rewarding profession than physical therapy.
In 2012, Dr. Scafidi was accepted as a Fellow of the American Academy of
Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT), in the field of Physical
Therapy. He is 1 of only 13 Physical Therapists in New Jersey and the
only Physical Therapist in Monmouth County that is a full fellow of the AAOMPT.
Over the years, John has worked very hard as an outpatient physical therapist,
with advanced training in orthopedics and manual therapy, to earn a widespread
reputation for excellence, integrity, knowledge and his ability to focus
on the well being and needs of his patients.
Dr. Leonard J. Somarriba, after receiving his Bachelors of Science (2005) and his Master’s
Therapy (2006), from the University of Connecticut, began his clinical
practice in 2006 as a traveling Physical Therapist. During this period,
he accumulated a wide variety of practical experiences and insights from
working in a number of diverse clinical settings, as well as a foundation
in several business models. In addition, Leonard completed his fellowship
training in Manual Physical Therapy at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual
Therapy, which is affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston
University in 2009. As a Fellowship Trained Manual Therapist, he is among
the elite of Orthopedic Physical Therapists in the profession.
Dr. Lenny loves treating and caring for people. He is a compassionate healthcare
provider, dedicated to making a positive impact upon the lives of each
patient he encounters.
His patients love how approachable and personable he is, so much so, that
they look forward to their appointments with him. If you ask Dr. Lenny
if he enjoys what he does as a Physical Therapist he will immediately
answer you with enthusiasm and a smile that says “absolutely!”
Dr. Liliane B Scafidi received her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy, in 1999, from ACE
Faculdade de Ciencias da Saude de Joinville, Brasil. She graduated with
a specialization in orthopedics and trauma.
In 2001 Lili completed specialty training in rehabilitation of hand injuries
at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic with Dr. Ronaldo Carneiro.
Dr. Lili then completed a one year clinical fellowship in Orthopedic Manual
Physical Therapy at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, which
is affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston University.
Lili went on to attend the University of Montana where she earned her
Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. She practices as an outpatient Physical
Therapist, with advanced training in orthopedics and manual therapy. Lili
enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Cherri Tsang earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Delaware.
While studying at the University of Delaware, she also received a Master
of Science in Anatomy & Clinical Health Sciences.
The University of Delaware's graduate school of physical therapy is
ranked second in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s
Best Graduate Schools.”
Dr. Tsang’s clinical experience includes working with a variety of
patients with orthopedic, sports, and neurological injuries or conditions.
She is passionate about helping patients reach their goals and to maximize
their quality of life. Additionally, she is dedicated to providing personalized
care, which is supported by the latest research, so she can best serve
her patients and community. When not in the clinic, Cherri enjoys staying
active by exercising, running, hiking, kayaking, and playing ultimate Frisbee.
Mayra Lupo PT earned her degree in Physical Therapy from New York University in 1977
and has been licensed by the state of New Jersey since 1978. After graduation,
she has focused her interest and training in orthopedics and soft tissue work.
Mayra is a Member of the American Physical Therapy Association: orthopedic,
private practice, and women’s sections.
Mayra has practiced physical therapy in a variety of clinical settings
with emphasis in private practice. Outside of work she enjoys exercising,
walking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Erik Hums specializes in manual therapy and orthopedics, and has a passion for providing
his patients with the highest quality care. Erik earned his Physical Therapy
Doctorate fromthe Saint Francis University School of Health Sciences in
Loretto, PA. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic
Manual Physical Therapists.
Erik is one of fifteen Physical Therapists in the state of New Jersey to
hold that title, and one of only two in Monmouth County!
Erik has been practicing physical therapy for 5 years, and his goal is
not only to help you recover from your injury, but to find and address
the underlying cause. He has also achieved TPI (Titleist Peformance Institute) Level 1 Medical Professional Certification, allowing him to give expert
advice to golfers looking to improve their game, as well as scheduling
strengthening and conditioning exercises to help get them to the next level.
