Co-Founder ProFysio & Doctor of Physical Therapy

About

Dr. John P. Scafidi has devoted more than 20 years to helping people overcome pain, recover from injury, and return to the activities that matter most to them. As co-founder of ProFysio Physical Therapy, he remains actively involved in patient care and is committed to providing the individualized, hands-on treatment on which the practice was built.

With advanced training in orthopedics and manual therapy, Dr. Scafidi treats a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. He believes that successful rehabilitation begins with understanding the person—not simply the diagnosis. His approach combines clinical expertise, careful listening, and a treatment plan designed around each patient’s specific needs and goals.

Whether a patient wants to return to work, athletics, exercise, or everyday activities without pain, Dr. Scafidi takes pride in guiding them through the recovery process. For him, one of the most rewarding parts of being a physical therapist is helping patients regain their confidence, independence, and quality of life.

Dr. Scafidi earned his Bachelor of Science in Allied Health and Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut. He completed his residency and fellowship training in orthopedic manual physical therapy at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, which is affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston University.

He later earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana. In 2012, Dr. Scafidi was accepted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, recognizing his advanced education and clinical expertise in orthopedic manual physical therapy.

Outside the clinic, John enjoys playing golf, working out, traveling and relaxing with his wife, Lili, their son, Andrew, and family and friends.
