Dr. Marissa Lynn

Doctor of Physical Therapy

About

Marissa Lynn graduated from Ithaca College with her Bachelor’s in Clinical Health Studies and a minor in coaching in 2010. Marissa’s participation in high school and collegiate athletics inspired her to pursue a career in physical therapy. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2012. Dr. Marissa joins ProFysio with over 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. She values the wonderful relationship that she has with her patients and finds great joy in helping them recover and watching them succeed. Marissa’s treatment philosophy is a patient centered approach. She believes that each treatment plan should be developed based on the individual goals and needs of the patient. Her treatments combine manual therapy and therapeutic exercises. Manual therapy is specific procedures performed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy to restore mobility, promote increased muscle activation, or relieve pain. Dr. Marissa is committed to a life long learning process and continues to hone her skills by utilizing evidence based practice and attending continuing education seminars. In addition to her professional practice, Marissa has been an adjunct faculty member at several community colleges in New Jersey where she has taught Anatomy and Physiology. In her spare time, she plays on a co-ed softball team and enjoys small group heavy lifting classes. Marissa loves to travel and spends as much time at the beach as she can.
