Dr. John P. Scafidi has been practicing physical therapy for nearly 10 years. John is extremely passionate about helping all of his patients where they can enjoy more active and productive lifestyles. This will help them to function pain-free; recovering as much of their abilities as possible after an injury, illness, or other chronic condition. He couldn't imagine a more personally rewarding profession than physical therapy.

In 2012, Dr. Scafidi was accepted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT), in the field of Physical Therapy. He is 1 of only 13 Physical Therapists in New Jersey and the only Physical Therapist in Monmouth County that is a full fellow of the AAOMPT.

Over the years, John has worked very hard as an outpatient physical therapist, with advanced training in orthopedics and manual therapy, to earn a widespread reputation for excellence, integrity, knowledge and his ability to focus on the well being and needs of his patients.


Dr. Leonard J Somarriba

Dr. Somarriba

Dr. Leonard J Somarriba received his Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut in 2006. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 2008. Dr. Somarriba also did his Fellowship training in manual therapy at the prestigious Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in Woburn, MA. He has extensive training and experience in the management and treatment of orthopedic injuries and ailments including spinal pathology, joint related dysfunction, and muscle/tendon disrepair.

Dr. Somarriba is a co-owner of ProFysio Physical Therapy. His vision for ProFysio was one that included unmatched customer service and unparalleled clinical excellence to deliver an optimal rehabilitation experience to it’s patients. ProFysio opened its doors in 2013. Today, ProFysio is recognized as one of the best outpatient physical therapy centers in Monmouth County.

When he is not in the office Dr. Somarriba enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys exercising, playing basketball, snowboarding, and reading.


Dr. Liliane

Dr. Liliane

Dr. Liliane B Scafidi received her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy, in 1999, from ACE Faculdade de Ciencias da Saude de Joinville, Brasil. She graduated with a specialization in orthopedics and trauma.In 2001, Lili completed specialty training in rehabilitation of hand injuries at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic with Dr. Ronaldo Carneiro.

Dr. Lili then completed a one year clinical fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, which is affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston University. Lili went on to attend the University of Montana where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. She practices as an outpatient Physical Therapist, with advanced training in orthopedics and manual therapy. Lili enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her family.


Dr. Hums

Dr. Erik Hums specializes in manual therapy and orthopedics, and has a passion for providing his patients with the highest quality care. Erik earned his Physical Therapy Doctorate fromthe Saint Francis University School of Health Sciences in Loretto, PA. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Erik is one of fifteen Physical Therapists in the state of New Jersey to hold that title, and one of only two in Monmouth County!

Erik has been practicing physical therapy for 9 years, and his goal is not only to help you recover from your injury, but to find and address the underlying cause. He has also achieved TPI (Titleist Peformance Institute) Level 1 Medical Professional Certification, allowing him to give expert advice to golfers looking to improve their game, as well as scheduling strengthening and conditioning exercises to help get them to the next level.


Dr. Chaviano

Dr. Nichole Chaviano earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology & Strength + Conditioning from the University of Delaware,she then went on to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University in 2015.

Since graduation, she has become passionate about providing personalized care for each patient to maximize their quality of life, and achieve their individual goals while reducing the risk of reinjury. She has received a certification as an ImPact Concussion Specialist, as well as is working towards a full certification in Integrative Dry Needling and Manual Therapy through Maitland Seminars.

When she is not treating patients, Dr. Nichole enjoys spending time at the beach, playing recreational sports and volunteering with the Special Olympics.


Dr. Kara Perkins

Dr. Kara Perkins earned her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now known as Rutgers Medical School) in 2013. After graduation Kara immediately began working in the outpatient setting and has continued to do so since.

She has experience working with a variety of patients including those with orthopedic conditions, post-surgical cases, sports injuries, balance difficulties, and much more.

Kara has a passion for helping others achieve their goals through manual therapy techniques, functional exercises and education.

She stays active with exercise and outdoor activities and enjoys spending time relaxing on the beach and hanging out with friends and family.


Dr. Zachary Theinert

Dr. Zachary Theinert received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia

Dr. Theinert's clinical experience includes a variety of orthopedic conditions with a focus on sport medicine and vestibular dysfunction.

When treating, Dr. Theinert believes in taking a more holistic approach that focuses not only on the problem area, but also the health and function of adjacent segments.

He is a POSE Method Running Technique Specialist (Level 1) and has also earned a Foundational Level Certification in Integrative Dry Needling.

In his spare time Zach enjoys playing soccer, golf, running, and snowboarding.


Dr. Beckenhaurer

Dr. Erica Beckenhauer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Temple University in Philadelphia and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Lynchburg College in Virginia. She took an interest in physical therapy in college and quickly pursued opportunities in outpatient orthopedic settings.

She has experience in treating patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions, balance dysfunction, and limb loss.

Having a personal interest in running and movement, Erica is Certified in Running Gait Analysis through the Association of Clinical Excellence.

She grew up in New Jersey and enjoys spending time outside, running, and exploring new cities. She has a passion for serving others and strives to promote wellness through movement.


Dr. Michael Skelly

Dr. Skelly

Dr. Michael Skelly earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at Gannon University, in Erie, Pennsylvania.

After graduating Dr. Skelly began working in outpatient orthopedics and has not looked back since.

Dr. Skelly is passionate about providing high quality one-on-one care for all his patients. He has successfully treated many spine patients utilizing the McKenzie method, enjoys treating shoulder patients and returning patients to their highest level of function.

In his free time Dr. Skelly enjoys playing golf, slacklining, running, skiing, exploring new places and trying new things.

DR. VIRA

Dr. Deirdre Vira earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rutgers University. Throughout her high school and collegiate athletic careers Deirdre gained a passion for helping others to grow and achieve their goals. This same passion has carried over into her practice as a physical therapist, where she is dedicated to helping others achieve success through comprehensive and individualized patient care. Deirdre’s favorite thing about her profession is helping others to reach meaningful milestones and aiding them in their return to activities that they are passionate about.

Cindy Raplee

Cindy Raplee's physical therapy clients benefit from her 25 years of experience in the fitness field. In that time, she has worked with patients of all ages and abilities to achieve health and wellness.

After many years as a certified fitness instructor, teaching classes in pre- and post-natal, healthy back, fitness for seniors, and advanced fitness for athletes, Cindy earned her Personal Training Certification from the American Council on Exercise. Cindy continued her education at PhysicalMind Institute, earning her certification as a Pilates Apparatus Trainer.

For fifteen years Cindy was the sole owner and operator of a pilates company where she combined all her knowledge to create a program that focused on muscle imbalance, joint dysfunction, and their effects on functional movement. Adding to her knowledge Cindy studied Mennell and Travell approach to Joint dysfunction and trigger point therapy.

Knowing her experience and abilities would be of service in the physical therapy field, Cindy pursued her associate degree in applied science, graduating with high honors as a physical therapist assistant from Union County College. Combining all her knowledge, Cindy enjoys educating patients, offering strategies to minimize pain while in motion. She has treated Parkinson’s disease, balance deficits, and a variety of orthopedic conditions.


In her spare time Cindy likes to spend time with family and friends, garden, and read. She stays active by going for hikes, taking long walks, and practicing Pilates.
